Free Summer Concerts
Join us this summer when we will again host free outdoor concerts at the Palisades Middle School.
Nockamixon Historical Society will celebrate seventeen years in 2010 providing family entertainment
for the community.
This year’s concerts are funded by the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic
Development. We were fortunate to be recommended by then Pennsylvania State Senator Rob
Wonderling and received this grant late last year from the DCED to cover our Free Summer
Concerts. Thanks to the offices of Representative Marguerite Quinn and Senator Bob Mensch, we
were able to locate affordable insurance coverage for this year’s concerts.
Due to the economy, the Pennsylvania Council On The Arts notified NHS that the funding we had
been receiving was no longer available. The Nockamixon Township Supervisors never advised our
organization that their funding and insurance would stop as well but assume the economy, political
environment and other considerations made their decision.
We look forward to hosting our concerts at the Palisades Middle School. Our thanks to the Palisades
School District for providing their facilities and the assistance of the helpful PALMS staff.
Save the dates of June 27, July 25 and August 22. Concerts start at 6:30 PM. in June and July and
6:00 PM. in August. In case of rain, they will be held in the air conditioned auditorium. Our 2010

Bring the family out for great musical entertainment, car show and a light supper. Affordable
refreshments are available; prices remain unchanged since we started in 1994. We will be selling our
popular sausage sandwiches and hot dogs, great root beer floats and ice cream sundaes.
Car cruises will be held with the concerts and start at 5:00 PM. so bring out your vintage, classic and
modified vehicles. As always, we expect to see many interesting collectible cars brought out by
township residents and neighbors from surrounding communities.
We appreciate everyone’s support in making our concerts successful over the years. Come out and
enjoy Sunday evening with your family and neighbors.
