Free Summer Concerts
We will celebrate our sixteenth year in 2009 providing free outdoor summer concerts for the
community. Started in 1994 to bring back the favorite pastime in the township during the 1800s,
three concerts are held each summer. They provide great family entertainment, and the music
chosen appeals to all ages. Young families with children attend, along with groups of senior
citizens and teenagers.
The activities are held on the grounds of the Palisades Middle School, Route 412, in Kintnersville
which is handicap accessible. In case of inclement weather, the concert is held in the air
conditioned school auditorium. Funding is provided by a grant from the Pennsylvania Council On
The Arts, along with donations from the Nockamixon Township Board of Supervisors and the
Historical Society.
A car cruise has been held with the concerts in recent years to encourage young people to
attend. Many residents from the area bring out their vintage, classic and custom vehicles.
Refreshments are available for a light dinner or snack, and prices remain unchanged since 1994.
As always we will be serving our famous sausage sandwiches, hot dogs, root beer floats and ice
cream sundaes.
We invite you to come out for a pleasant Sunday evening this summer. Join your neighbors and
bring the family to enjoy the great entertainment and car show. We appreciate your attendance
and support in making our concerts successful. All proceeds from refreshments sold are used to
further NHS projects and programs.
